Lake Como

My mum and I have just come back from a stunning summer break to Lake Como, Italy.

We spent 4 nights, 5 days in a lovely apartment, a little way away from the centre of the city. Admittedly it was a bit of a challenge to reach the flat when we first got there, but wandering leisurely through the pretty streets of Como isn't the end of the world, really!

The best way to travel once you're there is by boat, an element of the holiday we loved! Within just a ten minute boat ride, we were at the heart of Como, which boasts a beautiful view and attractive architecture. As expected, there were many upscale shops and restaurants here. Also relatively easy to reach was Bellagio, a quaint town charmed with sweet cobbled streets.

While we were this side of Italy, we decided to take a couple of detours out of the Como region. One of which was to Milan. Here we found our way to the Duomo cathedral, tucked into a yummy lunch and did a spot of window shopping. Our second big trip was to Lugano, Switzerland. This was a personal favourite of mine. The city was remarkably clean and undeniably stunning! Pricey, too.

It was a really lovely holiday and I look forward to the next!
