a charming city stay following my formal graduation from UEA

As you probably know by now, I love to make an occasion out of anything really, so it was inevitable that my graduation was going to last longer than just the day! As a treat, my partner and I stayed at the Assembly House for the night following a heartwarming day of celebration. I'd wined & dined with the netball club many a time here for our summer balls, so was already familiar with its beautiful interior. I hadn't ever had the chance to spend the night though so was chuffed to finally be able to!

The hotel is of course a little pricey for Norwich but absolutely worth every penny due to its exceptional quality. The location for one is brilliant. Right by the city centre but out the way of too much noise. The staff are all really friendly and help to maintain the general charm of the building which is just stunning. I loved that breakfast was included because in many other hotels you find this is an additional cost. I must highlight how remarkable the menu was too! Not just your ordinary breakfast buffet but a range of choices, from the classic full-English to their yummy waffles.

Our room (room ten) was a lot bigger than we'd expected, more of a suite I suppose! It featured a separate living area, large double bedroom and a delightfully spacious bathroom, complete with a roll-top bathtub. We were tucked away from the main house and had our own floor, making it feel all the more private and intimate. The living area had plenty of room to relax in and presented the option of light reading with magazines or watching tv. A cute touch was the chocolate truffles we found tucked away in the mini-fridge! Another tv could be found in the bedroom, which boasted a comfortable bed and an abundance of storage room. The bathroom spoiled us with both the bath and the shower, in addition to a range of products by feel good formulas. I really liked the way the rooms were put together on the whole but one of the most stylish aspects has to be the integrated sound system. By simply connecting your phone through bluetooth you can have your music filling the suite within seconds.

We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back, especially now we have our hands on a 'Norfolk Passport' which treats us to a handy little discount, heheh.
